How it was worked out
- Basic pay. ₱755.00 a day × 26.08 days (313 ÷ 12, a rest day each week) = ₱19,690.40 a month. (DOLE Department Order No. 150-16, guidelines on the employment and working conditions of security guards)
- Overtime and night differential. The hourly rate is ₱755.00 ÷ 8 = ₱94.38. A 12-hour shift has 4 hours of overtime at 125%: ₱94.38 × 1.25 × 4 × 26.08 = ₱12,307.15. Night differential is 10% of the hourly rate for each hour between 10 pm and 6 am: ₱94.38 × 10% × 4 × 26.08 = ₱984.57. (DOLE Department Order No. 150-16, guidelines on the employment and working conditions of security guards)
- 13th month and leave. 13th month: ₱19,690.40 ÷ 12 = ₱1,640.87. Service incentive leave: ₱755.00 × 5 days ÷ 12 = ₱314.58 a month. (DOLE Department Order No. 150-16, guidelines on the employment and working conditions of security guards)
- Employer contributions. SSS counts all pay, ₱32,982.12, so the salary credit is ₱33,000: employer ₱3,300.00 plus ₱30.00 EC. PhilHealth is 2.5% of the ₱19,690.40 basic, ₱492.26. Pag-IBIG ₱200.00. Total ₱4,022.26. (SSS Circular No. 2024-006, PhilHealth Circular No. 2020-0005 and HDMF Circular No. 460, employer contributions)
- Fee and VAT. Total cost of the guard ₱39,059.83 × 20% = ₱7,811.97 administrative fee. ₱46,871.80 × 12% VAT = ₱5,624.62. Contract rate: ₱52,496.42. (DOLE Department Order No. 150-16, guidelines on the employment and working conditions of security guards)
- The daily wage is the input you gave. Use the minimum wage of the region where the guard is posted, from the latest wage order of its Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board.
- Holiday pay and rest-day premiums are left out. A post manned every day, holidays included, costs more; add them when the contract requires work on those days.
- VAT is computed on the whole contract amount, as most VAT-registered agencies bill. A non-VAT agency does not add it. Check the billing with the agency's accountant.
- Relievers, firearms, radios and insurance are left out unless the agency puts them in the fee.

Questions
Asked and answered.
How is a security guard's contract rate computed?
Add the guard's monthly wage, overtime, night differential, 13th month, service incentive leave, uniform allowance and the employer's SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG, then the agency's administrative fee, then 12% VAT.
What is the difference between the 313 and 365 days factor?
313 days pays a guard who takes one rest day a week, about 26 days a month. 365 days pays a guard who works every day of the year, about 30.4 days a month.
Do security guards get overtime pay on a 12-hour shift?
Yes. Work beyond 8 hours is overtime at an additional 25% of the hourly rate on an ordinary day, so a 12-hour shift carries 4 hours of overtime.
Can a client pay a security agency below the minimum wage rate?
No. The contract must cover at least the minimum wage and the mandated benefits; a client and an agency that agree to less are both liable for the shortfall to the guard.
